Roof Flashing

Flashing is metal edging that is installed where walls, chimneys and skylights adjoin your roof, as well as boots for all of your vent pipes to prevent water from either soaking wood or entering your home. It helps deflect water away from seams or joints. Typically, flashing is either galvanized steel or aluminum which is moderately priced and naturally resistant to decay. Copper is the most expensive but also lasts longest.
